University City Real Estate

Located in one of the most easily accessible living spaces in San Diego, University City is in an area often referred to as the Golden Triangle, bounded by Interstates 5, 805, and Highway 52. The name comes from the presence of part of the campus of the University of California San Diego on the western edge of the neighborhood where many students, faculty, and employees of the university live. The area is served by great elementary and middle schools as well as University City High School, part of the San Diego School District.

There are two parts to University City, divided by Rose Canyon. To the south is a more established neighborhood on Governor Drive made up primarily of single-family homes and retail stores, as well as a commercially zoned area offering office parks and low-rise buildings. North of Rose Canyon is a newer development made up mostly of condominium complexes and apartments, as well as high-rise office buildings. The main shopping area in this area is University Towne Center (UTC), a modern mall with big-name retail stores, ice rink, and relaxed shopping environment. North University City was developed primarily in the 1980s and 90s, and growth and development continue to the present.
