Solana Beach Recreation and Parks

Solana Beach is one of the most beautiful seaside areas in Southern California with great surfing, beaches, lagoons, and hiking trails. There’s a bike and hike trail along Highway 101 where you can enjoy the ocean breezes and get a good workout in. The San Elijo Lagoon is a popular destination for those looking to enjoy trails along the wetland area and as an opening to the beach. And on the east side of the city, east of I-5, is San Dieguito County Park where there are picnic areas, shady eucalyptus groves, a ball field, basketball court,  play areas, and hiking trails. The lower area of the 125-park is devoted to non-reservable family picnics open all times of year for family enjoyment. Other recreational activities in Solana Beach include swimming, snorkeling, diving, and fishing.
