San Marcos Recreation and Parks

San Marcos has over sixteen parks and recreation centers within the city and offers many state and county parks within easy distance of the community, as well as several multi-purpose recreational facilities which serve individuals and families looking for healthy and affordable venues, open-space areas, and facilities. The Community Services Department provides recreational and community-benefiting programs and support services at city parks and recreational facilities, which include: the Barn; Senior Center; Community Center; Gymnasium; Neighborhood Rec. Centers; Jack’s Pond Nature Center; and the two Aquatic Centers. There are activities for pre-schoolers, after school and non-school days programming; senior citizen services; family programs; youth and adult sports; cultural and performing arts; aquatics; liaison work with community groups; trail and nature center activities; and park and trail planning.
