San Marcos Golf

San Marcos, has three beautiful and popular courses near the city and many more in the greater Escondido area. The closest are Twin Oaks Golf Course, an 18-hole par 72 on Twin Oaks Valley Road, just one mile from downtown San Marcos, as well as Lake San Marcos Country Club, an 18-hole, par 72 private course, and one of the most popular public courses around at the Lake San Marcos Executive Golf Course, an 18-hole, par 58 on Camino del Arroyo, just three miles from downtown San Marcos. And in nearby Escondido there are over 28 golf courses within 12 miles of the city, it’s no wonder that Escondido is one of the great centers for golfing in California. Among these are the public Vineyard course at Escondido, an 18-hole, 6,531 yard, par 70 course that is one of the premier public courses in the greater San Diego area. Other private courses include Castle Creek Country Club, Meadow Lake Golf Club, and the Lawrence Welk Resort which features the Fountains and the Oaks, both 36-hole courses that make for a beautiful day of golf in the dry air of inland San Diego County.
