San Carlos is near Mission Valley which has restaurants near and around all three shopping malls and also near Hotel Circle, which offers some of the best dining in the city. It is also near the Gaslamp Quarter which offers excellent cuisine of all types and for all types of evenings out, from elegant dining to family-style. A great Italian and Mediterranean choice is La Strada, known for its chic clientele, stylish decor, and robust Italian wine.
