The Crosby EstatesMany “Old Hollywood” celebrities settled in Rancho Santa Fe following the construction of the Del Mar Racetrack in the 1940s. Crooner Bing Crosby was one of these first “settlers,” and was known for golfing at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club at every opportunity. Crosby even fashioned his own novel golf tournament, called the “Crosby Clambake,” where celebrities partnered with professional golfers—the first time this style of tournament was implemented. Located on 722 acres of the former estate of Bing Crosby, the Crosby Estate is a gated luxury community and golf club. The Crosby Estate is accessed by crossing a 340-foot bridge that spans the San Dieguito River. In keeping with Crosby’s love of golf, the Crosby Estates consist of 443 residences comprised of villas, semi-custom and custom homes, and custom homesites, all surrounded by an 18-hole Brian Curley and Fred Couples-designed golf course. Residences evoke the Spanish-colonial style of Rancho Santa Fe architect Lillian Rice. Additionally, over 190 acres of land are designated to remain open space in order to preserve the neighboring San Dieguito River and wetlands. The Crosby Estates Homes for Sale
