Rancho Bernardo’s shopping areas are concentrated in several large shopping centers located nearby such as North County Fair, just off Interstate 15, north of Rancho Bernardo. RB is mostly a bedroom community, but there are stores and shops that specialize in retail, family, big-box, and chain stores and that cater to families and individuals looking for affordable merchandise, clothing, accessories, sporting goods, books, and other items. The centers are well-lit and easy to park in and offer restaurant and fast-food choices as well as small cafes. Rancho Bernardo is within easy reach of the I-15 and other North County areas with higher density shopping in downtown locations and with easy access to downtown San Diego.
