Murrieta has two award-winning golf courses near the city, Bear Creek Golf and Country Club with 18-holes and 6,992 yards, and Cross Creek Golf Club and Course 18-holes and 6,833 yards with a par of 71, both of which are public courses and well-maintained. Other nearby public courses include the California Oaks Golf Course, Colony Course 5 miles from the downtown center of Murrieta and the SCGA Golf Course, another beautiful and challenged public course.
