Logan Heights Recreation and Parks

Logan Heights has a wonderful scenic park in the neighborhood, Memorial Park, with open space and plenty of room for the kids to play. The area is close to Downtown San Diego which features many small neighborhood parks and a beautiful spacious park, Balboa Park, named after the explorer who discovered the Pacific Ocean. Begun as a tourist destination in the 1920s for the Pacific Exposition, Balboa Park now features museums such as the Natural History Museum, San Diego Historical Society, Science Museum, and other smaller, unique museums such as the Museum of Model Railroads. The quiet ambience and old world architecture makes Balboa Park a great place to spend the day with the family or for visiting at night for a play at the Old Globe theater. With a professional baseball team, San Diego offers Downtown's Petco Park as America's newest urban Major League baseball stadium. Home to the San Diego Padres, the ballpark has great seating, modern amenities and panoramic views of San Diego Bay.
