Lemon Grove is east of downtown San Diego, one of the most desirable tourist destinations in the country. There’s plenty to see and do in the outdoors in East County San Diego, but for evening entertainment it’s a short drive to downtown San Diego. You can dine and dance in the Gaslamp Quarter, take a stroll along the Embarcadero, see a baseball game at Petco Park, visit the Museum of Natural History in Balboa Park, or just go shopping in Horton Plaza and see a play or a symphony. With the redevelopment of the downtown area since the building of the ballpark, many people are making downtown their home, especially young professionals looking for an active night scene, but also families who enjoy the great atmosphere of the Bay and other local activities. One great way to spend a day in the downtown San Diego area is to go museum-hopping in Balboa Park.
