Lakeside Schools

Lakeside, east of downtown San Diego off the 52 freeway and near Lakeside, is in the Lakeside Union School District, an award-winning district that attracts high-quality teachers from around the country. The Lakeside Union School District and the Grossmont Union High School District (with El Capital High School nearby) rank among the best, earning several local, state, and national awards for academic excellence. The schools also have outstanding extracurricular activities from sports to fine arts. The area is home to the Grossmont Community College District, which has two award-winning community colleges, Grossmont and Cuyamaca.
