Soledad SouthOn the southeast side of La Jolla’s Mount Soledad is the neighborhood of Soledad South, or South Soledad. As the highest point on San Diego’s coastline, Mount Soledad offers expansive 360-degree views for its Soledad South residents that encompass Pacific Ocean to the west, Mexico’s Coronado Islands to the south, and downtown San Diego to the southeast. At night, the entire city twinkles below. Mount Soledad remained largely undeveloped for residential use until post-WWII road construction, thus homes in South Soledad have build dates from the 1950’s on. Lovingly maintained and renovated, the single-family homes here are one of La Jolla’s best home values. Soledad South also offers several condominium developments, all with private recreation facilities. Mount La Jolla’s 234 detached and duplex units were constructed in 1972 and range from 1700 to 2400 square feet. Ridgegate is a gated community of detached homes constructed beginning in 1995 and averaging around 2600 square feet. Windemere is a gated community with 24-hour private guard. 303 homes built in 1973 are located here. Windemere’s town and patio homes range from 1800 to 4000 square feet. Soledad South Homes for Sale
