La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove is a small beach adjacent to the Village of La Jolla.  The Cove is tucked between sandstone cliffs and is one of Southern California’s most scenic (and most photographed) beaches.  The Cove is also part of an underwater ecological preserve, so marine life here flourishes. Thus, the Cove is a popular spot for scuba diving and snorkeling.  The elegant shops and restaurants along Prospect are a pleasant short walk via the Cove’s walking paths, where people gather to view the sunset each evening.  Famed San Diego architect Johnathan Segal designed his family home here, overlooking the Cove, on a formerly "undesirable" triangular-shaped parcel of land at the intersection of Prospect Street and Exchange Place.  This modern home (called "The Prospect") has received prestigious design awards from the American Institute of Architects, AIA San Diego and the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.
