Jamul is a rural town located just east of El Cajon and Spring Valley off Highway 94 in San Diego’s East County. Many of the more than 6,000 residents appreciate the slower paced, country lifestyle. Though it is seemingly a world away, Downtown San Diego is a 25-minute drive from Jamul.

There are no condominiums in Jamul, and there is little commercial property. Most homes in Jamul have large lots. You can measure lots in acres instead of square feet. There are many affordable homes in addition to the newer, large custom luxury homes that include beautiful vistas of rolling hills and mountains that make up the rural East County countryside. Many residents choose to keep horses on their property due to favorably large lots and zoning codes.

Jamul residents have employment opportunities in burgeoning El Cajon, a much shorter commute than Downtown San Diego. In addition, much like Julian, Jamul is becoming a hot spot for Bed & Breakfasts.
