With over 28 golf courses within 12 miles of the city, it’s no wonder that Escondido is one of the great centers for golfing in California. Among these are the public Vineyard course at Escondido, an 18-hole, 6,531 yard, par 70 course that is one of the premier public courses in the greater San Diego area. Other private courses include Castle Creek Country Club, Meadow Lake Golf Club, and the Lawrence Welk Resort which features the Fountains and the Oaks, both 36-hole courses that make for a beautiful day of golf in the dry air of inland San Diego County.
