Del Mar Golf
Del Mar is near some of the best golf courses, clubs, and shops in Southern California. With world-class links such as Aviara, La Costa, Rancho Carlsbad, as well as courses in Rancho Santa Fe and Torrey Pines, there are also new courses to try out such as the Del Mar Grand Golf Course. In 2008, the US Open will take place at Torrey Pines public course in La Jolla, just a few miles south of Del Mar, and there are nearby driving ranges and opportunities for lessons from world-class players at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. There’s always a nearby link, range, or lesson available near Del Mar, and plenty of golf enthusiasts to share a round with.
Right along the coastline you will find one of Del Mar's golfing ranges, the Del Mar Golf Center, a full range course that provides services for every type of golfer. The Golf Center features a PGA instruction staff, as well as private and semi-private lessons, classes, and computer and video technology to aid in instruction. Covering 50,000 feet in the short game area, the course includes 65 teeing stations, 25 grass and 35 mat stalls, practice chipping and putting greens, and camps for all ages. The Del Mar Golf Center is open from 8 am until 8 pm daily, and for those games that go past dusk, the facility's night lights enable you to finish up those last few holes.

Set to open in the fall of 2007, the Grand Del Mar resort and golf course promises its guests a “world class resort experience” from the resort itself, to the golf course, spa and dining facilities. The Grand Del Mar's golf course is a private and luxurious course designed by Tom Fazio and is built around the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, giving its members a most picturesque and naturally beautiful playing environment. The par 72 course is spread over 380 acres of land and the tee locations vary from 5230-7169 yards in length. Accommodating all levels of playing abilities, the course provides a practice facility that includes 2 large tees at either ends of the range, as well as a short game practice area and putting green. The resort also includes a golf shop where you can find a variety of golf apparel and equipment. In addition to the golf course, the Grand Del Mar resort includes a fine dining restaurant, the Addison , and also a full service bar and grill, The Clubhouse Grill.
