College Grove Recreation and Parks

Near College Grove is one of the most beautiful and spacious parks in the San Diego, Balboa Park. Begun as a tourist destination in the 1920s for the Pacific Exposition, Balboa Park now features museums such as the Natural History Museum, San Diego Historical Society, Science Museum, and other smaller, unique museums such as the Museum of Model Railroads. The quiet ambience and old world architecture makes Balboa Park a great place to spend the day with the family or for visiting at night for a play at the Old Globe theater. College Grove also has San Diego State University which has playing fields and open spaces for students and visitors.
