Clairemont Schools

Clairemont is a suburban San Diego community dedicated to strong schools and outstanding teachers. As part of the San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) it has such award-winning schools as Lafayette  Elementary School on Printwood Way; Marston Middle School on Clairemont Drive; and Clairemont High School located close to the intersection of Balboa Ave and Clairemont Drive. As of 2005 there were approximately 1,350 students and 87 certified staff members. It has accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and was ranked #867 on Newsweek's 2005 list of the Best High Schools in America (out of 27,468 high schools nationwide), and is most famous for being the school that Cameron Crowe modeled the high school in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” on in 1980.
