Cardiff by the Sea Recreation and Parks

Cardiff is a surf town with great spots like Cardiff Reef, Swamis, Seaside Reef, Pipes and more. Recreational areas include Glen Park, with tennis and basketball courts, a children's play area, and picnic tables and the new Cardiff Sports Park has multiple baseball and soccer fields. Seaside Reef is home to a large annual surf event, and nearby seaside lagoons offer hiking trails as well as some camping facilities. Other recreational activities include swimming, snorkeling, diving, fishing, sun-bathing, wind- and kite-surfing. Bird watching is also an enjoyable pastime here. Many of the beaches have showers, lifeguards, and restrooms. There are county and state parks nearby such as San Elijo State Park offering a secluded get-away from the hurried life, and weekend activities for people of all ages.
