Bonita is located in the Lower Sweetwater Valley and occupies an approximately 5-mile stretch of Southern California’s Sweetwater River. Upstream from Bonita is the Sweetwater Reservoir. The I-805 highway is nearby. Bonita has multiple housing tracts that were built from the 1960s to the 1980s, including Bonita Glen, Bonita Downs, Bonita Highlands, Bonita Ranch, Emerald Woods, and Lynwood Hills.
